General Questions

We have a few different sizes available and they are all serve slightly different purposes.  The recommended weighted blanket should be approximately 10% of your body weight.  For example:

  • 2.3kg is ideal for 20-35kg body weight
  • 5.0kg is ideal for 35-60kg body weight
  • 7.0kg is ideal for 60-80kg body weight
  • 9.0kg is ideal for 80-110kg body weight
  • 11.0kg is ideal for 110+kg body weight

TIP: the blanket may feel too heavy for the first few nights.  Occasionally it can take up to a week to get used to the weight of the blanket.  The blanket will not cover your whole bed mattress as it is designed to cover your body.  It is slightly smaller than your usual blanket size.  

Yes! However, ensure that your child can remove the blanket easily by themselves before they start using it.  This is essential for safety reasons.  We do not recommend our blankets for children under 3 years of age unsupervised.  We also advise not to use the blanket to cover above the neck.

We recommend our 2.3kg blankets for children under 25kg.  Heavier and taller kids may find more benefit from our 5kg blankets as they may find them more comfortable and roomier.  We DO NOT recommend any of our blankets for infants. 

Our blankets are completely machine washable.  Although many customers prefer to only wash the outer cover and choose to not wash their inner weighted blanket in the washing machine to increase the lifespan of your blanket.

We advise cold machine wash on a gentle cycle followed by an air drying to maintain the quality of the cover.  Although our blankets and covers can be tumble dried, we do not recommend this for longevity. Do not use bleach. 

Please do not use blanket near an open flame.  Our blankets are not suitable for children under 3 years old unsupervised.  

Some glass beads may shift and/or dislodge during the packaging and shipping process.  It is quite normal for you to find some loose beads upon the initial arrival of a new blanket.  This will not compromise the effectiveness of the blanket nor is it a defect of any kind.  

However, if any part of the blanket rips or begins leaking, please dispose of the blanket immediately.  Do not consume the beads.  We recommend parental supervision when a child is using or blanket.  If you have a medical condition which you think may prevent you from safely using our products, we recommend that you consult your doctor to ensure our blankets are suitable for you. 

Shipping

We use Australia Post for most of our deliveries and offer free delivery within  Australia and New Zealand.  You can expect your parcel within 10-14 business days if you are in Australia and 14-21 business days in New Zealand. 

If you have ordered multiple items from us please note that they may not be sent at the same time.  We will endeavour to process and ship the items in your order as they become available so your order may arrive in several packages. Also note that our items may be sent from different warehouses in NSW and VIC so they may arrive at different times. Orders of multiple blankets may be too heavy to be packed together and Australia Post cannot guarantee the items will stay together during transit.  Because of this, your items may also arrive separately.

 

If your order does not arrive within the nominated time frames above, please contact us so that we can follow it up with Australia Post.

We currently have free shipping across Australia and New Zealand.  Our products are shipped from our warehouses in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.  Australian residents can expect their items within 7-10 business days after your order is dispatched. New Zealand residents can expect their blankets within 14-21 business days after your order is dispatched.   

Australia Post Notice (Please Read)

To ensure that you receive your items as fast as possible, we use the first available shipping carrier that is able to deliver your package. Due to security reasons, a majority of our private couriers are unable to deliver to PO Boxes unless the receiver of the package is signed up for PO Box Plus with Australia Post.

This enables packages to be delivered to your PO Box by any of our  couriers as fast as possible.

If you are unable to sign up for PO Box Plus, please use either your street address or your place of work as the shipping address. 

Rural areas should expect slightly longer shipping times as metro areas are the couriers first priority.   

Returns

If you went through the entire checkout process and confirmed and order we may be unable to cancel it.  This is due to our system immediately sending through your order to our fulfilment partner.  This system allows a very fast delivery service to our customers.  However if you do need to change or cancel an order please email us immediately with the subject line CHANGE or CANCEL and we will do our absolute best to carry out your request.

Please keep in mind due to the current high volume of orders and customer service requests occasionally an order will be processed before the team has a chance to change it.  We cannot guarantee a change of order after the order is placed so please select your items carefully.  

A weighted blanket generally takes up to 10 days for your body to become entirely used to the additional weight.  Please note that while some people have an immediate and positive response to weighted blankets, others do take time to get used to it.  We suggest having faith in the widely used process of proprioceptive input.

We offer a 14-day money back guarantee, with trust that the products do not get returned damaged or misuse in any way.  Please email us at hello@sleepluxe.com.au for further questions or enquiries.

Please note we will not be able to accept or return for a refund if you are out of our 14-day trial period regardless of the condition of your blanket.  We believe 14 days to be a very fair amount of time in which to try our blanket and decide whether or not it works for you. 

Due to hygiene reasons, we do not offer refunds on the SleepMask or SleepBand.
